LAFOLLETTE (WATE) - Three people died in a two-vehicle car wreck on Monday night in Campbell County, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

THP troopers said Joshua Peavley, 19, of LaFollette, was driving his truck southbound on Highway 63 near Angel Lane when he crossed the center line and hit a car driving northbound.

The truck caught on fire, and Peavley was partially ejected from the vehicle.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the other vehicle, two people died, and three others were injured. 

The car driver, Gary Mefford, 59, of Jacksboro, and the passenger Brenda Mefford, 63, of Jacksboro, both died.  They were not wearing their seat belts.

Phillip Lee and Joshua Ivey, both 17, and Alexandria Conley, 5, were transported to UT Medical Center. Lee and Ivey were not wearing seat belts. Conley's car seat was not being used properly, according to the THP report.

Weather is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Tests for drugs and alcohol were ordered as standard procedure.
