KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Knox County Sheriff's Office has identified the driver responsible for striking a go-kart, injuring two teens and fleeing the scene.
Benjamin Norton, 26, of South Knoxville, was cited for a misdemeanor for leaving the scene of an accident.
On Dec. 16, two 14-year-olds were driving a go-kart in the intersection of Babs Road and Henry Haynes Road, when Norton's Nissan Sentra struck the vehicle.
Both teens were taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center for minor injuries.
A sheriff's deputy later spotted the Sentra parked on Norton's street. Forensics
later matched a part of the car that was left at the scene to Norton's
car.
Norton will be booked on Jan. 9.
He does not have a criminal
history in Knox
County.
