Officials search for Knox County stabbing suspect

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Authorities are searching for a man who stabbed another man and punched a woman in the face on Friday afternoon, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

The incident occurred at 4 p.m. at a gas station located on Asheville Highway and Strawberry Plains Pike.

The suspect, 26-year-old David Crist of East Knox County, and the victims have been involved in a long dispute.

Crist stabbed Anthony Crowe, 21, of Smoky Row Road, in the side with a pocket knife.  Crowe was transported by Rural Metro to UT Medical Center where he was treated and released.

The other victim, Alisha Fields, 31, of Smoky Row Road, drove herself to UT Medical Center for treatment and was later released.

After the stabbing and assault, Crist fled the scene with two other men in the car. 

One of the occupants was his father, and the other was a friend.  They went to the father's house on Drinnon Road, where Crist later escaped from when officers arrived.

Officials have charged Crist with aggravated assault with a $5,000 bond and simple assault with a bond of $1,500. He has been arrested in the past for assault and various driving infractions.

The other two men will not be charged.
