Whitley County deputies search for men involved in armed robbery


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WATE) - The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is looking for the people involved in a business robbery in the Gatliff community.

On Sunday, Dec. 30 at approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call of an armed robbery at Young's Grocery.

Two individuals entered the store with their faces covered, one armed with a rifle and the other with a .22 caliber revolver and demanded money.

The two males fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and a .38 Taurus pistol from under the counter.

The two individuals fled the scene in a white, four-door Grand Prix, with three females in the back seat of the car.

Witnesses were able to describe one of the females as having a lip ring in the lower right lip and black nail polish.

One of the men was approximately 5'9" tall, weighing about 210 lbs. The other was described as 6' tall and weighing approximately 170 lbs.
