The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being hit in front of Rural Metro Fire Station 25 on Old Rutledge Pike.

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle early Wednesday on Old Rutledge Pike, east of Knoxville.
James L. Morgan, 90, of Mascot,was crossing Old Rutledge Pike in the 8400 block just before 7 a.m., when Alvaro Reyes-Hernandez, 31, of Morristown, struck him with his 2003 Dodge Neon.
Reyes-Hernandez said he did not see the victim until it was too late.
Morgan was transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Reyes-Hernandez was wearing a seatbelt at
the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor.
He was taken
into custody and charged with driving without a
license.
