Indiana man charged with stabbing girlfriend in Gatlinburg

GATLINBURG (WATE) - An Indiana man is charged with attempted second degree murder for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend Thursday in Gatlinburg. 

Gatlinburg police say Amber L. Leslie, 22, was found just before 2:30 p.m. with multiple stab wounds at the Hillside Motel Apartments, 1629 E Parkway. 

The Fort Wayne, Ind., woman was airlifted to University of Tennessee Medical Center and is listed in critical condition. 

James E. Heroy III, 20, of New Haven, Ind, is being held in the Sevier County Jail.
