KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The FBI is expanding its scope as it looks for the two men who are linked to armed robberies in Cocke County and Georgia.

The "bold and dangerous" suspects robbed the Tennessee State Bank in Newport on Dec. 26.

FBI investigators linked the men to a similar robbery at a SunTrust bank in Gainesville, Ga. on Dec. 11.

Now, the FBI is using digital billboards in multiple states, in addition to posting wanted posters, in the hopes of catching the two men.

The digital billboards will be seen in Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

An FBI spokesman says the Carolinas were included due to proximity and direction of travel after the Newport robbery.
