KNXOVILLE (WATE) -  Butch Jones has been on the job for just over a month, and the questions about where Tennessee football is heading are relentless.

But this much is certain-- Tennessee has no plans to dodge next season's showdown with Oregon.

"I can tell you as I sit here speaking with you that there has been absolutely no talk of getting out of the Oregon game," Jones said in an interview with WATE 6 Sports on Thursday.

The Vols also face challenging road games at Florida and Alabama next season.

Tennessee can't do anything about the Gators and Crimson Tide. Those games are part of the SEC schedule.

The Oregon game is a non-conference match-up.

Two years ago, when Derek Dooley was head coach, the Vols opted-out of a scheduled non-conference game with North Carolina.

Jones said there are no plans to take the same approach with the Ducks.

"It's on our schedule. Obviously, our schedule, I think you'd be hard pressed around the country to find a more challenging conference schedule and out of conference schedule. But also, I think it's a tremendous opportunity for our football program as well."

Alabama was the 2012 BCS national champion.

Oregon finished the season ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press poll.
