ALCOA (WATE) - A regional jet landed safely at McGhee Tyson Airport Friday afternoon after concerns were raised that a tire in the landing equipment had blown a tire.

U.S. Airways Express Flight 2467 reportedly blew the tire prior to landing.

Airport workers had the plane fly past the airport to assess the tire before it landed.

At the time of the landing, 49 passengers were onboard.

The plane left from Charlotte and was en route to Tallahassee when it was diverted to the Alcoa airport because of the concerns.

Maintenance crews were still assessing the gear Friday evening to determine if the tire was blown.
