Blount County officials identify man who drowned in Little River

MARYVILLE (WATE) - An autopsy report revealed that the victim found in Little River on Thursday afternoon drowned, according to Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong.

Authorities identified the man as 37-year-old David Houston Slaughter of Maryville.

The University of Tennessee Medical Center performed the autopsy.  A toxicology report is expected within several months.                            

Two fishermen, who were fishing on the Little River near Coulter's Bridge at Tuckaleechee Pike and Old Walland Highway, found the victim in the water.
