KNOXVILLE (WATE) - It's official! The 2013 Girl Scout cookie selling season is open.

This weekend Girl Scouts across East Tennessee gathered for pep rallies to celebrate.

Some scouts held their kick off at the Episcopal School of Knoxville.

"I like girl scouts because a lot because I get to help the community and it's just a fun way to do fun things with people," said Girl Scout Madison Bryant.

Cookie orders will be taken now until Feb. 10, and there are six varieties available this year.

"I like that we can work together and do things together. I like the team work and how we work together," said Girl Scout Payton Todd.
