UT student struck by car on campus


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A University of Tennessee student was struck by a car on campus on Monday night, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

UT student Tyler Michalove, 19, was driving his blue 2003 Saab northbound on Volunteer Boulevard near Melrose around 6:30 p.m.

Michalove then hit 19-year-old Sasha Sewell, another UT student, who was walking in the cross walk.

Michalove told police he did not see Sewell, who he struck head on.

Sewell suffered minor injuries and was transported to the UT Medical Center.  Michalove was uninjured.
