KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A former member of the Knox County Trustee John Duncan's office was sentenced Wednesday for facilitation of official misconduct.

Former Chief of Staff Josh Burnett and former delinquent tax attorney Chad Tindell were two of the six employees who, along with Duncan, accepted bonuses in 2010 for online education courses they never completed.

Those bonuses have since been paid back, but an investigation into the matter led to misdemeanor charges.

On Wednesday, Burnett was sentenced to 11 month and 29 days and judicial diversion, meaning he will not have to serve any time in jail.
