KINGSTON (WATE) - Interstate 40 in Roane County closed temporarily Thursday while crews worked to clear the scene of a tractor-trailer on fire.

The accident happened near mile marker 354 near Kingston. Traffic was diverted off of the road at Exit 352 and detoured back to the interstate at Exit 356.

By 1:30 p.m., the left, eastbound lane was reopened, however the right lane was still blocked to traffic. The lane was not expected to reopen until 5 p.m.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, a truck carrying produce caught fire.

No injuries were reported.

Westbound traffic was not affected.
