DANDRIDGE (WATE) - A man was arrested Friday morning after his car struck a trooper's cruiser during a snowstorm.
Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremy Shelton was attending to several weather-related accidents on Interstate 40 in Jefferson County on the overpass above Highway 92 around 1:46 a.m.
Shelton was out of his cruiser checking on a car that was up against the barrier wall on the left side of the road when a car driven by Juan Trinidad, 31, of Gatlinburg, hit black ice and struck the trooper's cruiser in the rear.
Upon investigation, Trinidad was found to be driving without a license and was arrested and taken to Jefferson County Jail.
Neither man was injured in the incident.
