GATLINBURG (WATE) - Park rangers identified the man whose body was found in a trail shelter earlier this week.
The body of Richard Lemarr, 50, of Knoxville, was found Wednesday at the Tricorner Knob Shelter along the Appalachian Trail.
He left Newfound Gap on Saturday morning with that intention of reaching Davenport Gap in North Carolina, a 30-mile distance.
A friend reported him missing when he didn't show up at an arranged meeting on Monday morning.
A cause of death has not been determined, but did not appear to be suspicious.
