KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville-based business thrives on making house calls and their service is worth barking about.
Tracie Worley's father started Groom & Go, a mobile grooming business, almost 25 years ago.
Today, she and her husband A.J. are keeping the tradition going.
"It was out of the family for about two years. Then my wife bought it back from that lady in '99 and started it back up again," A.J. said.
They now have almost 400 regular customers, operate two mobile units in and around Knox County. They use all-natural products and they encourage pet owners to come on board.
"We have electricity, a hot water tank, a cold water tank, a water pump. It's just like an RV set up," he said, "Everything you'd see in a shop, we have compacted into a van."
You might say this concept is a luxury for some pet owners: avoiding car rides, long hours and nervous pets. But for some, it's a necessity.
"Some people are stuck to the house and can't get out," he explained.
Tracie and A.J. spend nearly an hour with each pet, always hand-drying and fluffing each one.
They say the personal attention makes them stand out.
