STRAWBERRY PLAINS (WATE) - A third child died Friday from a car crash that killed two other children back in September 2012.
8-year-old Collin Lane of Jefferson County passed away early Friday morning at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
The
wreck took place Sept. 10, 2012 on U.S. 11E in Strawberry Plains. Officers say Theresa Hackett, 47, was driving south when the left side of her vehicle dropped off the pavement. She overcorrected, causing her car to flip three times before hitting a tree.
Jasmine Lane, 6, and Preston Lane, 11, died from their injuries. Josh Lane, 9, was released from the UT Medical Center shortly after the crash.
