LAFOLLETTE (WATE) - Cade Sexton resigned from his position as LaFollette City Administrator on Friday, according to LaFollette Mayor Mike Stanfield.

It was effective at 4 p.m. on Friday.  Sexton handed the mayor his letter of resignation.

Mayor Stanfield told 6 News an official investigation is underway.

Back on Jan. 4, questions were raised about a trip made by Sexton and Vice Mayor Hansford Hatmaker that resulted in a city-owned SUV being involved in a crash.

Sexton said they were on their way back from attending a graduation ceremony at the Mark Luttrell Correctional Complex in Memphis.
