KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville residents will join others across the nation to observe the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday Monday with a parade and tribute service.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in East Knoxville.
This year's event will stretch to Greater Warner Tabernacle AME Zion Church, also on MLE Jr. Avenue, where a tribute service will be held at 11:45 a.m.
The service will include a choir, a keynote speaker and several special awards and recognitions.
