DICKSON (AP) - A Dickson man who intentionally stepped onto a Nashville interstate to be struck by traffic has told the TBI he hit his wife repeatedly with a hammer.

The Tennessean reported the first-degree murder charge against 23-year-old Morris Long was sent to a Dickson County grand jury on Friday.

Long was hit by a tractor-trailer truck on Interstate 40 on Dec. 22. That was the day after 21-year-old Ashlee Long was found dead. Morris Long recovered from his injuries.

The TBI said Long told them he used drugs before getting into an argument with his wife and then struck her repeatedly with a hammer, killing her.
