Funeral held for 4 young fire victims

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A funeral for four children killed in fire has been conducted in eastern Kentucky.

The fire on Jan. 9 killed the children and their father. It also critically burned their mother.

WYMT-TV reported the observance was held Sunday at Virgie Middle School.

The children who died were the sons and daughters of Billy Wilfong and Tammie Tucker. Wilfong died in the fire at the family's home. The children were 5-year-old Dakota, 4-year-old Tyler, 2-year-old Cheyenne and 6-month-old Emily.

The fire engines that battled the fire were parked at the school in honor of the children.

Family members and friends released balloons in memory to the children, following the funeral service.
