ALCOA (WATE) - Surveillance video taken Tuesday during the robbery of an Alcoa fast food restaurant led to the arrest of the suspect.
Police say Tony Lee Light, 24, of Rockford, walked into the Subway at 2919 Old Knoxville Hwy. just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. An employee told authorities that Lee ordered a sandwich, but instead of paying for it he gave the clerk a note that said he had a gun. Lee then demanded money from the register.
Authorities say Lee then fled the restaurant in a maroon four-door sedan.
The Alcoa Police Department distributed the surveillance video to media outlets, which aired still shots on its newscasts.
Authorities say a 6 News viewer recognized the suspect and then called police.
Lee is charged with aggravated robbery and also faces several warrants.
