KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Events, businesses and government agencies closed or delayed activities Friday because of the ice storm that passed through the area.
The following cancellations and closings have been announced:
- Knox County government offices will open at 10 a.m.
- City of Oak Ridge offices will open at noon on Friday
- Claiborne County Government will be closed Friday
- Loudon County government will open two hours late on Friday
- Access to the Y-12 Plant will be closed to all non-essential personnel
- "The Gathering of the Quilters" at Sevier County Senior Center is canceled for Friday.
- The Greater Knoxville Hospitality Association (GKHA) has canceled the East TN Regional Legislative Brunch for Friday
- The groundbreaking for the Clayton-Bradley STEM Academy in Maryville, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed to Feb. 8 at 3 p.m.
- Both Tennessee Metals locations - Forks of the River and Quincy Avenue - will be closed Friday
- The Neighborhood Watch Banquet in Oak Ridge has been postponed to a later date
- Albea Cosmetic America in Morristown will close Friday and reopen Sunday
- Heartland Medical in New Tazewell will be closed Friday
- The Zone Sports Complex will be closed Friday
- Concord Family Practice is closed Friday
- Clayton Bank and Trust will open at 10 a.m. Friday
- Farragut Town Hall will open at 10 a.m.
- Kidz Korner Daycare in Middlesboro, Ky. is closed Friday
- The Lincoln Memorial University's main Campus and all LMU Extending Learning sites, including LMU-Duncan School of Law, are closed Friday
- Cedar Creek Pediatrics in Maryville is closed, but may reopen Friday afternoon if road conditions improve. The clinic will be open Saturday.
- Alcoa Tenn Federal Credit Union opens at 11 a.m.
- Social Security Administration offices in Knoxville, Maryville, Oak Ridge, Jacksboro, and Morristown will be closed Friday. The Social Security Adminstration Hearings Office in Knoxville will also be closed.
- Lee's Total Health Pharmacy in Sevierville will open Friday at 10:30
- All Knox County locations of UT Federal Credit Union will open at noon Friday
- Mobile Meals will not make deliveries Friday
- TVA Credit Union branches will open at 11 a.m.
