Human trafficking hotline get hardly any calls

CHATTANOOGA (AP) - A hotline to set up to take reports and offer aid to human trafficking victims in Tennessee has gotten only 28 calls in 15 months.

Margie Quin, assistant special agent in charge of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, told The Chattanooga Times Free Press that the hotline doesn't get many calls "because nobody knows about it."

Quin made the comments Friday in Chattanooga while participating in a meeting with other officials about human trafficking in the state.

The Women's Fund of the Greater Chattanooga has launched an initiative to spread information about the hotline, which can be reached by calling 855-558-6484.
