NASHVILLE (AP) - Some officials are expressing concerns about a new policy to post free digital recordings online of oral arguments from all of Tennessee's appeals courts.
The policy change by the Tennessee Supreme Court was made in the name of "transparency and openness of the courts" and is scheduled to begin in the spring.
Appeals Court Judge Frank Clement is among those who have written to the state's high court to express concerns about the policy. Clement told The Tennessean that his main worry is how the change might affect children, such as those whose parents are divorcing.
The court hasn't wavered on its stance that the policy is needed on the grounds of transparency and the people's right to know.
