KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Rocky Houston made an appearance in court Monday for a hearing on federal gun charges.
The Roane County man was arrested for owning out-of-state guns as a felon.
Houston still did not make a decision as to whether he would
represent himself or have an attorney appointed to him.
Houston told the court he is trying to get money back from an acquaintance and wants to determine whether he can access that money before making a decision.
The judge gave Houston until Monday Feb. 4, the date of his detention hearing, to
make a decision as to whether or not he will hire an attorney.
In the meantime, Houston
says he will fill out paperwork to have "elbow council" assist
him.
The judge entered plea of
not guilty of Rocky's behalf.
Houston's trial is set to begin in March.
