Jellico High School evacuated for bomb threat

JELLICO (WATE) - Students at a Campbell County school were evacuated Monday morning after a bomb threat was called into the school.

Students at Jellico High School were evacuated after a bomb threat was found scribbled on a boy's bathroom stall.

The threat was discovered and students were evacuated during lunch.

Students were taken to Crouch's Creek Baptist Church while Campbell County deputies searched the school building.

Since the county does not have its own bomb squad, the Knox County bomb squad was called in to assess the threat.

Investigators searched until about 4:15 Monday afternoon, but the search came up empty.
