Cool and Slightly Unsettled to Start the Work Week

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Good Monday Morning to you! I'm First Alert Meteorologist Dontae Jones. Here's your weekend forecast:

THIS MORNING: Skies will continue to be mostly cloudy with a chance for a stray shower or sprinkle. Watch out for the potential for patchy fog this morning. Out the door temps will range from low-mid 60s inland to the mid-upper 60s at the coast.

THIS AFTERNOON: Skies will be mostly to variably cloudy with another chance for isolated showers in the forecast; best rain chances will be along the highway 70 corridor. Highs will top out around the 80 degree mark with a continued NE and E flow to keep us cool.

TONIGHT: Rain chances increase slightly with our next front coming in from the northwest. We'll call for a 30 percent chance of rain overnight with cloudy skies. Temps will be in the upper 60s inland to around 70 or so at the coast.

Another frontal boundary will increase rain chances for Tuesday. Temperatures ahead of the front should be able to boost into the low-mid 80s under partly-mostly cloudy skies. Post-front, temperatures will fall and stick in the upper 70s to around 80 each day under a mix of sun and clouds and a persistent NE flow; this may cause some water pile ups along the north facing shores.

TROPICS: Hurricane Edouard continues to remain in the open Atlantic. The storm is not expected to affect the east coast of the United States. Another wave is pushing off the west African coastline and will have to keep an eye on it over the next few days. Another area of disturbed weather is in the NW Gulf of Mexico and doesn't look have a chance to develop.
