South Knox man shot during home invasion


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A man was shot Wednesday night when three men broke into a home in south Knox County.

Sheriff's investigators say Eddie Burnett Moore, 66, was shot while visiting his brother at the home on Edington Road.

At about 10 p.m. three unidentified intruders wearing masks forced their way into the home and demanded money.

Moore was assaulted and then shot.

The suspects fled in a white Cadillac with rims. No other description of the suspects is available.

Moore was transported to UT Medical Center. Authorities have not reported the extent of his injuries.

Moore's brother, Larry Moore, was not injured.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office asks that anyone with information on the break-in and shooting to call KCSO Major Crimes Detective Krystal Gibson at (865) 215-2243.
