KNOXVILLE (WATE) - University of Tennessee officials said Thursday afternoon that they plan to restore power to a dorm on campus by late evening.

According to a university news release, the North Carrick and South Carrick residence halls were without power since early Wednesday.

Students in the halls have the option of returning Thursday evening or spending another night in alternative accommodations.

School officials said they plan to restore power to the building at 10 p.m.

The building remains heated and all emergency lobby and security lighting and other systems are still operating. Lighting and outlet power, however, are not working.

Approximately 436 men and 88 women live in the residence halls.
