KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Snow has fallen across various East Tennessee counties, and with it comes some dangerous road conditions.
Mark Nagi with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said maintenance crews are treating state routes and interstates wherever necessary across East Tennessee. Crews will stay on their routes as long as the threat of snow and ice is present.
Nagi said maintenance crews could be out working until 8 a.m. Sunday.
TDOT reported a multiple-vehicle accident on Interstate 75 at mile marker 116, and one southbound lane was blocked. The wreck has since been cleared. Rural/Metro said one person was transported non-emergency to Tennova Healthcare.
As of around 3 p.m. on Saturday, most counties reported their roads were no longer slick.
However, Morgan County dispatch said the entire county's roads are still slippery, and they have had about 15 wrecks without injuries throughout the day.
