PIGEON FORGE (WATE) - Pigeon Forge firefighters were able to save some of a resident's possessions during a weekend house fire.
The fire broke out around 3:47 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of TimberLake Drive.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, the fire had engulfed 50 percent of the residence with fire reported just outside of the chimney area and extending into the attic area.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and were able to preserve several of the occupant's personal belongings.
Firefighters remained on the scene until 6:58 extinguishing hot spots and assisting with salvaging as much of the occupants belongings as possible.
Pigeon Forge Fire Department was assisted by Waldens Creek Fire Department, Wears Valley Fire Department and Sevier County Fire Department.
According to the Pigeon Forge Fire Department, this was the fifth structure fire that the department had worked in the past week.
