GREENEVILLE (WATE) - An East Tennessee high school went into lockdown mode Tuesday after an anonymous 9-1-1 call saying a student could be carrying a weapon.

The lockdown was in effect at Chuckey-Doak High School in Greene County for much of the morning, but was lifted around 1 p.m.

The sheriff's department responded, but found no evidence that students or faculty were in danger.

Greene County and Greeneville City Schools also went on lockdown, but officials decided to resume normal operation much earlier.

Parents were notified by an automated message system.
