JEFFERSON CITY (WATE) - The Carson Newman Eagles will try to build upon a 9-3 season last year by adding 28 commitments for 2013.
Among the players recruited by head coach Ken Sparks is 2012 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Finalist Thomas Loy, an offensive lineman from Maryville.
Also joining the Eagles is tight end Dean Taylor from Knoxville's Fulton High School and linebacker Joseph (Nick) Henningsen from Farragut High School.
Another area player committing to Carson Newman is former Alcoa High School center Derek Evans, who is transferring after redshirting at Appalachian State.
