KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Friends and family are mourning the loss of Zachary Reagan, 20, after he was killed in a single car accident in East Knox County.

The accident happened Wednesday night at 9:30 on Thorngrove Pike.

Authorities searched for almost six hours, even using thermal imaging cameras, but did not find his body.

When the sun came up Thursday morning, family and friends found the body.

Brittany Reagan, 23, says she and her brother Zach were more than siblings, they were best friends.

"He loved getting together with friends. He loved to pick the guitar. He was learning to do that and we were really excited about maybe playing music together soon," said Brittany Reagan.

She can't believe her brother is gone.

"He was a good boy and a good person and it's not fair," said Reagan.

This isn't the first time Brittany has lost a loved one on this road. Several years ago her father passed away in a motorcycle crash. The accident was just two miles away from the scene of her brother's wreck.

"The timing and the day, how it happened and the place, it's just very odd. It's just very similar and it's just very tragic," said Reagan.

Investigators say in Zachary's accident the Ford Explorer rolled, and he was ejected. Officers say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

Friends and family found Reagan's body 50 yards from the scene of the crash in a thicket, which was less than a half a mile from his home.

Brittany says her brother was a hard worker who enjoyed his job at Massey Electric.

"He was such a good employee, always ready to work. He always said, 'I'm ready to get up and put my tools on. I'm ready to work,'" said Brittany Reagan.

She says Zachary will never be forgotten.

"He had these big blue eyes you would think they would glow and a crooked grin and he would be like, 'Come on Brittany, lets go.' We were going to go do something, some adventure," said Brittany.

After they were unable to find his body, officers thought Reagan may have left the scene.

After family and friends found his body Thursday morning, investigators returned to Thorngrove Pike to reconstruct the scene.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office is still investigating.
