KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle Friday morning while crossing a street near Fulton High School.
John Sharp, 23, was hit while crossing East Woodland Avenue near Broadway around 7:13 a.m.
He was hit by a 2010 Dodge van driven by Carol Morris.
Sharp was walking into the driveway of Fulton High School when Morris turned into the driveway and hit him.
Sharp said he didn't hear the vehicle approaching because he was playing a game on his phone and had earbuds in his ears.
He was taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center for minor injuries.
Morris was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
