KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Gibbs Elementary School teacher has been reprimanded over claims she threatened a student with an electric shock.

The mother of a Gibbs first grader told 6 news her son was threatened with a fake lie detector.

Katina Angola confronted the teacher and told school administrators.

On Friday, Knox County Schools said the teacher in question was counseled and reprimanded by the school principal.

The school system said yesterday it had filed a formal complaint with the Department of Children's Services.
