OAK RIDGE (WATE) - A vacant house in Oak Ridge is now burnt to the ground, according to Chief Darryl Kerley with the Oak Ridge Fire Department.
The blaze started just after 4 a.m. Sunday on the 100 block of Hillside Road.
One of the first officers on the scene said the fire was fully involved by the time they got there.
The house is considered a total loss, but no injuries were reported.
Firefighters let the house completely burn to the ground after they made their investigation. Kerley said that otherwise, the skeleton of the house could pose a danger because a storm or high winds could knock the debris all over.
Kerley added that the fire department is not entirely sure what caused the fire, but they think it could have been intentionally set.
