Man arrested for large amount of marijuana inside home

CHURCH HILL (WATE) - Narcotics officers have arrested a man believed to have been possessing and selling a significant amount of marijuana from his home in Hawkins County.

On Friday evening, officers executed a search warrant at Greg Herron's home on Pine Street in the Church Hill area. Herron voluntarily told officers about the large amount of marijuana he had inside the home.

Officers confiscated three-quarters of a pound of compressed marijuana, believed to have been part of a marijuana brick. These bricks are common for shipping the drug.

Also inside the home, officers seized seven rifles and three handguns.

Herron was arrested and processed into the Hawkins County Jail. He was later released on a $15,000 bond.

Herron is awaiting arraignment set for February 11th.
