Knox County Schools SRO reprimanded for gun incident

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knox County Schools resource officer was reprimanded for incident involving his service weapon.

In November 2012, Officer Joseph Odom was found to have removed his duty weapon from his holster in a reckless manner. 

At the time, he was assigned to Bearden High School.

Officer Odom was counseled, received a written reprimand and additional training.

The officer was reassigned to another school, but was not placed on leave.

No students were present and no one was in danger.
