KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Officials are searching for at least two suspects who are connected to a West Knox County restaurant robbery, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

It happened just before 11 p.m. Friday at the Pizza Hut located on the 9200 block of Kingston Pike.

According to the initial investigation, a black male carrying a handgun entered the front door of the business, approached the clerk at the front desk and demanded to know where the safe was.

The male pointed the gun at the employees and made them lie down on the floor. He then grabbed cash from the safe and register and fled through the front door.

When he was leaving, the suspect pointed his gun at a delivery driver who was coming in the front door at that time and demanded that he stay outside.

The male fled on foot but was seen getting into the passenger side of a faded red older model Honda Civic, possibly between 1992 and 1994. The car had a custom muffler and dark tinted windows. The suspects fled the parking lot in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male with light skin, approximately 25 to 30-years-old,  between 5'8" and 5'9", and around 150 to 160 pounds.  He was unshaven with scraggly facial hair. The male was wearing a faded camouflage jacket at the time of the robbery. A description of the driver of the Honda is unavailable at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Knox County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit at (865) 215-2243.
