GALLATIN, Tenn. (AP) - An employee of a church in Middle Tennessee has been charged with stealing from the congregation.
WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/XPJ6TQ ) reported Saturday that Crystal Lynn Dycus was charged with theft of property over $60,000 and money laundering.
Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford said Dycus is accused of stealing $165,000 from the Douglas Chapel United Methodist Church in Gallatin over the past year and a half.
Investigators said Dycus used church funds to make home mortgage payments and tan at local tanning salons.
She is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 22 on the charges.
