Ky. woman flown to hospital after two-vehicle wreck

WALLINS, Ky. (WATE) - A Kentucky woman was flown to the hospital after being thrown from her motorcycle in a wreck, according to Kentucky State Police.

It happened around 1:45 p.m. Saturday on Kentucky 219 in the Wallins community.

Preliminary investigation indicates Roy Watkins, 76, of Wallins, was driving his 2001 Chevrolet Astro west on Kentucky 219.

Kerry Partin, 20, of Loyall, was driving her 2006 Honda CBR600 motorcycle eastbound.

Watkins attempted to make a left turn onto Brooks Street and turned into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then struck the passenger rear of the vehicle, causing the operator to be ejected.

Partin was flown to Holston Valley Medical Center for treatment. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The Wallins Creek Volunteer Fire Department along with EMS assisted.

The collision is still under investigation.
