JOHNSON CITY (WATE) - A post on a local news stations Facebook page results in a KFC employee's termination.

According to WJHL, a photo of a KFC employee made to look like she was licking a tub of mashed potatoes was posted to the TV station's Facebook page last week.

The response to the photo was large. More than 2,000 shares and 700 comments were posted.

WJHL contacted KFC's corporate headquarters. KFC officials responded via email saying food safety is it's primary concern, and that the employee in the photo had been fired.

KFC officials also noted that this particular KFC has not had a critical violation during a Health Department visit in its past six inspection, including the most recent in November.
