Couple accused of abuse surrenders remaining animals

TAZEWELL (WATE) - The couple that was taken into custody over the weekend on charges of animal abuse has surrendered the remaining animals to authorities.

Charlie Gregory, 58, of Pineville, Ky. and Taniciah Little, 54, of Andersonville, face 134 charges of animal cruelty after a traffic stop led police to more the than 130 animals in the horse trailer they were towing.

The animals were without food or water and a veterinarian said the six puppies they seized were severely malnourished.

Gregory and Little had already surrendered the puppies. On Tuesday, they surrendered the remaining chickens, rabbits, peacocks and a beagle.

The animals are being cared for at the Claiborne County Animal Shelter.

The couple is scheduled to be in court Feb. 28.
