CLINTON (WATE) - Anderson County commissioners gave the thumb's up to a proposal that would put the words "In God We Trust" on the county courthouse.
Supporters of the measure do not believe it's a violation of church and state.
Tuesday evening it was standing room only at the commission meeting.
Three people did speak out against the display, but the commission approved the proposal as long as no legal issues arise.
Donations, not tax dollars, will fund the lettering.
A commissioner would fund the cost of the installation.
