KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A West Knoxville business was raided by FBI and IRS officials Thursday morning.

Service Provider Group, LLC (SPG), a company that handles business services like payroll administration and employee benefits for other companies, was the target of an 8 a.m. raid.

A witness told 6News she saw 20 agents in bulletproof vests enter the company's building in Turkey Creek in the early morning.

The FBI and IRS have not released any details on the subject of the raid.

No arrests were made Thursday as officials said they were still investigating.

Witnesses say most employees were sent home for the day, while others were escorted by FBI officials to the parking lot where agents searched their cars.

A woman who told 6News she's a former employee at Service Provider Group says there was financial corruption while she worked for the business.

Around 5:15 p.m., agents left for the day, carrying multiple boxes with documents.
