ROGERSVILLE (WATE) - Four people were arrested Thursday in a prescription pill bust after returning from an Atlanta pain clinic.
Narcotics officers from the Hawkins County Sheriff's Department responded to a tip that a drug transaction was taking place at the parking lot of the Bulls Gap Pharmacy located off Highway 11E.
That's when they found Ryan Allen, 23, his stepfather Richard Rogers, 44, Kendra Wade, 39, and Patricia Graham, 45, all from Kingsport, with a large amount of oxycodone pills allegedly with an intent to exchange money.
Allen, Rogers and Wade reportedly had tried to fill the prescription they received at the Atlanta pain clinic at a Georgia pharmacy, but did not have enough money.
Investigators found that Graham had just filled a prescription at the Bulls Gap Pharmacy a few minutes prior, and when officers arrived, they found that her bottle was missing 80 pills.
Allen later admitted to hiding them on his person. He was taken to a local hospital so a doctor could remove them.
