ALCOA (WATE) - The owners of a motel complex have settled a nuisance complaint with the City of Alcoa.
Last week, Alcoa officials moved to shutter the Days Inn, Budget Inn and Royal Extended Stay, saying they were a hotbed of crime and drug use.
The settlement requires the buildings to be brought up to code, calls for a security camera system and the management must cooperate with law enforcement, allowing officers to search at any time.
The settlement also comes with an $11,000 penalty for the owners.
